Smoker Shed Project

Hi. I've been reading the forum for about a year but this is my first post. I spent the last two weekends building a shed for my WSM using a Suncast GS 3000 storage shed which I made a number of modifications to. I used 3/4 " plywood, a 3x3 ft. aluminum sheet, an oil drip pan from Autozone, 1/4 in. plastic rivets, a 2x4, assorted brackets, and #12x3/4 wood screws. I can cook in it with the doors and roof open, and store it closed. I used an IR temperature gun to make sure my temps were safe all around and they were fine. The step by step process can be seen at the link below.

If you have any suggestions for improving it, let me know.
Regards,
Scott

Great job! Welcome to the site and thanks for posting your pictures. I hope my WSM never sees this post, it will feel all neglected.

Thanks for your comments. About a month ago my wife told me the backyard was starting to look like "Sanford and Sons" with all my smoker stuff around. I looked at the work people had done on tvwb for some ideas. I opted for modifying a Suncast shed as I have used them in the past to make a generator shed. The GS 3000 and GS 2000 are no longer shown on the Suncast web site but they can still be found online at Zoro.com (GS 2000-charcoal storage) http://www.zoro.com/i/G0772204/?category=7351) and doitbest.com (GS 3000-smoker shed) http://www.doitbest.com/products/suncast-45-cu-ft-horizontal-utility-storage-shed?q=suncast+gs3000).
Best Regards,
Scott

Wow great idea, I'd love to do something like that for my smokers/kettles. It'd give me some room in the garage. Thanks for sharing!
