Smoked Chicken on the Q

I had brined a chicken yesterday & didn’t get to cook.
The forecast for today was 2-3 inches rain & 20-40 mph winds as Christobal comes ashore.
My cookers are on my patio but I have a q220 on my porch out of the elements.
Chicken on the Q!
Used a baking sheet & coolin rack as a heat shield.
A pellet smoking tube for smoke
The q runs about 325F on lowest heat but the bird looks great.

I have heard of people doing turkeys on the Q3xx with great results, so a chicken on the smaller Q grills should work out fine. Putting a pan under and raising the bird is a great idea to mimic indirect heat and keep the bird from burning on the bottom.

It kinda works but honestly that one looked a little more "blackened" than "Smoked" :D Glad it tasted good

Goes to show you can stretch the capabilities of the Weber Q grills. Myself, I would probably just use a kettle and leave the Q for fast grilling, but it looks like you had fun pushing the boundaries. :coolkettle: I like chicken darker myself!
