smoked beans

Just to lay the groundwork, here's a link to all of the bean recipes posted on the forum. Many of these are candidates for smoking in your cooker.

These are some good contenders

Good luck! Let us know what beans you end up cooking and share the recipe if it's not one of these.

Chris, I'm gonna add to your list....

Alton Brown's Once & Future Beans, add an extra PINT! of liquid and smoke uncovered. If you have a good brisket (not too much fat,) let the beans catch the drippings. Be careful, too much fat and the sauce will never reduce.

Edit: Pint! Only an extra pint....[/B]

Here's one we really like.

1 can (12oz) root beer (not diet)

1 tsp. ground ancho chili pepper (optional)

1 cup smoked cheddar cheese (optional)

Cook bacon until crisp add pork and beans, apple pie filling, root beer and if desired ancho chili powder.
Cook covered on medium heat for 30 -40 minutes if still to soupy remove cover and simmer until desired thickness. If desired sprinkle servings with cheddar cheese.
If doing on a grill use a cast iron Dutch oven or skillet cook covered indirect for 20 minutes then uncover to thicken.
