How do you use it?
I’m smoking a ring of kielbasa with no room to clip the probe to the cooking grate.
Other times, I’d just drop it inside the lid vent.
Today, I decided to push it in the silicone side opening. Just let it sit there.
When I use my Fireboard probe I do it exactly as you are using your probe today. There was a time when I clipped my probes to the grate but I no longer do that. I use my best judgement to compensate for a possible temp variance and walk away
I found these probe clips to be more helpful in a tight spot than the traditional v-shaped ones that attach to the grate. They take up less room and can be clipped vertical instead of horizontal if need be. https://bbqguru.com/storenav?CategoryId=5&ProductId=52
Not as high tech as you guys but I use one of these and push through the silicone side opening. Of course I can't monitor from a distance but does let me know air temp closer to the lower grate.
