Picked up some pork loin bone in country style ribs in the dog food section for half off.
Never had these before so we decided to try something different with them.

I smoked them with Penzeys BBQ 3000 and Weber’s roasted garlic and herb for seasoning. Used the performer with a snake/fuse for the first time and cherry wood for smoke. Ran the temp at +/- 225 for 1 ½ hours

Next Barb cut up some bells and jalapenos and onions put those in the Dutch oven with a bottle of Stubbs Hickory Bourbon BBQ sauce and a bottle of Gordon Biersch Blond Bock beer ala PSB.
Added the smoked ribs covered and simmered for two hours.

Also decided to make some BBQ beans from scratch no canned beans here.
Did the bacon and onions in the cast iron and added the cooked beans and sauce simmered for an hour.

Barb cooked up some of her great corn on the bone.
Served the veggies over Trader Joes brown rice. With the Stubbs and beer sauce and the veggies with the nutty flavor of the brown rice it was fantastic.

Ribs had great flavor, not falling off the bone but still very tender and the beans were perfect also.
Took a big part of the day to do it all but it was certainly worth the effort.

Great looking cook Rich and Barb! Love the beans. I have a nice big ham shank from last weekends cook. Hoping to do some beans pretty soon. Hope they're as good as yours!

Looks great, Rich & Barb! Saw a BOGO deal last week on some country style pork ribs and almost went for it, never having tried them before either. Really wishing I had snagged them after seeing this!

That is a superb meal my friends, I always felt the combo of wet/dry cooking is always the tastiest and most tender. Love it, well done

Wow - you Dahls can drive my chuck wagon any ole time! That's a real cowboy style feat there Rich. We love the country ribs - they are very versatile and almost always affordable...

Regards,

John
