Panel Clips on a Genesis 1000???

Hey everyone, I’ve got a bit of a head scratcher. I needed to replace one of the valves on my Genesis 1000 so I had to take the control panel off. In all of the posts here, and in the Weber schematic, the control panel is supposed to be attached with “Control panel plugs with screws, 1/4 inch - Part No. 668”. Mine however was not, it was attached with what seem to be automatic panel clips (at least that’s what we call them here in Canada), and there were 3 of them. I’ve replaced the valve and now I need to reattach the control panel but I’m unsure what to do. Thoughts? Hopefully the pictures help. Thanks!BFCA9853-7F8B-43EF-8D36-E7BD33588795.jpeg9B692019-4705-48D7-8100-84ECE388A09C.jpegEEA42702-2E57-42A7-A415-3B7CD0323FC9.jpegE7D886B5-1CB2-4CEC-8A89-B4CA3F36DCFA.jpeg058CBA76-883F-4DCB-88B8-6ABDFC47CB10.jpegA63152B6-215B-4374-B896-A30BE36886B9.jpeg

I could be wrong. But I believe the plug is inserted into a square hole. Your frame may have been drilled to accommodate that round plug

Judging by The ring of rust around the hole I suspect someone drilled it and never touched up the paint.
If you need to replace those push pins a lot of cars use that type of fastener. A trip to the local auto parts retailer would probably stock them. Also, the square push plastic inserts the screws normally screw into look a lot like the plastic inserts that car license plates are fastened to. I haven’t verified this but also worth to check for a local source vs ordering online.

Thanks Scott!

I’m fiddling with this too. The inserts I have are not working. For now, i’m using some 3M Dual-Lock. I may try some neodymium disk magnets next.
