My plan is to paint the lid with the recommended Ultra High Gloss heat paint. The top of the lid is somewhat faded. What prep work should I engage in on this lid? Second Q... what do you recommend I do with the Weber logo? I plan to paint the sides, and fire case in flat. Thanks

I agree with Larry. Don't do it. Better to clean it up and accept the fade which is deep in the porcelain, not oxidation that can be buffed out. Then keep your eyes open for a better donor hood.

While you can't buff out the fade, you can use some rubbing compound to make the rest look extra shiny.

Find a new lid if you don't like that one. Painting it is not the answer. You can do it, but it won't last long before it looks worse than it does now.
Just about any lid from a 1985 to 2005 Genesis three burner grill will fit your cook box.
