On our first Holiday Season without dad

So, This photo was the epitome and the character of my old man. Always loved a martini and a good meal. I think he was about 93 or 94 here. But always loved being around everyone and enjoying a nice drink and good meal. So this photo is gonna be made in a canvas wrap and hung in the back of my bar cabinet (which I inherited from him). I think it will be perfect!

Great pic!

He looked really good for that age. Lost my dad when he was 94. Natural causes, but he really went downhill the last several years. They were truly of the greatest generation. God bless their souls.

Great pic. There were some social media posts going around this holiday season of people loading a pic into ChatGPT and saying 'turn it into a Norman Rockwell painting'. The results were very cool. Might be neat to try with that pic of your dad.

Edit: I just loaded a pic of my dad on Christmas and it gave it the Rockwell treatment in seconds. (yes, he was trying to grill and hand out presents simultaneously. Hence, the apron)

I miss my folks every day, especially at holidays, birthdays, Saturdays, Sundays….
It doesn’t get “Better” it just gets “Different”. My wife said that to me after my brother died, I think of them all every day! My brother was a huge fan of oyster stew after Midnight Mass, I brought the champagne! The folks were always happy for a midnight snack of that caliber!
