NU Temp

I ordered a NU temp nu-700 remote thermometer. I was wanting to use it to monitor for low temp in smoker for those all night smokes. I all ready have a maveric I use for everything else. The temp range on the box says -58 to 199f. I guess I got the wrong model number. Do you think it will hurt the probe using it in the smoker where temps would be higher than 199f?

I don't know about the Nu-Temp's, but I have fried a couple of remote thermometers by going over the maximum range. I'd definitely return it and get the right one.

Brian, the one you need is the NU-TEMP NU-701. It has a temperature range of -40F to 392F.

Well I got it off Ebay. No returns. Oh well.
