Nothing fancy Friday night chicken

So I smoke some BSCB tonight, nothing fancy. I didn't use the water pan, but rather cooked some potatoes slides wrapped in foil on the lower rack and that worked great to keep the temps down. It was a great cook as I sat outside for almost the whole cook with my wife sitting next to me. And I remembered to get a pic of the full plate. Thanks for stopping by!

Potatoes make a great heat sink, and unlike ceramic briquettes, lava rocks or drip pan water you don't mind consuming them!

I was so surprised, the potatoes keep it right at the same temperatures as boiling water in the water pan. It was one of those few times where the crazy idea that I just go for actually worked. I will make the same meal the same way again.
