Terry - bbqking

TVWBB Fan
I was just searching for more Weber/SmokeFire people/sights to share info/cooks with and came across this sight. My name is Terry aka bbqking. I live in Phoenix, Az. Moved here from Washington state in 1994. Year around grilling here. Love that. Heat not so much. I’m 47. Own a Weber gasser-E310, 3 kettles. And an EX6. Never thought I’d be a pellet guy, but the SmokeFire changed that. (Sold that brownie)B3AEE6E8-8D84-4F0E-8435-D5C2C4617574.jpeg

My best thing is probably brisket. I tried several on the kettles and always messed it up. Somehow the wife could do them on the kettle, but I always failed. But I’ve done 3 on the SmokeFire and success each time.6B21008F-A0CD-40CC-ACF7-BA6367F55EF2.jpeg93B00C6C-EE42-4900-9EE7-2EDAD598B414.jpeg8DF3CAC3-B483-470F-AB5E-ED01462D6D6F.jpeg714FA3F7-8D47-4B87-9AD3-5D83C345E49D.jpeg1D9F09E7-EEB9-47E0-B723-ABDD4A13446B.jpeg

Looks darn tasty....I find everything that I could get off my pellet always turned out very good. It never did however feel like a true bbq flavour.
Without that charcoal and honestly any wood flavour when I used any flavour of pellet. I find the kettle to be a challenge every time I use it, it is a lot of fun and everything for the most part still comes out great. Welcome to the boards, good bunch of guys here, everyone like to offer great advice.

Welcome Terry,
Nice looking brisket on the SF. I've seen lots of your SF cooks on an other forum and they're outstanding!

I totally agree with the no comparison when it comes to flavor, with charcoal and wood. With that said, the convenience of the SF is great.

Yeah for sure, I am not putting them down at all, I own a Traeger about 12 years old now.....It was my first smoker style cooker. I learned a lot on it and felt the need to move to cooking over a fire. It started by me winning a smokey Joe premium little 13". Trying to manage cooking for 2 on that little thing, the heat that would come off of it and the limited space. The flavours there turned me over to a kettle.
