i have just built my first heatermeter and adapt a damper, all seems to work just a few questions

i am using the uk clone version of thermoworks TX-1004X-SP from eti as listed in the wiki. Will these work straight away by setting the probe settings to thermoworks?

what PID settings should i start with or will the defaults work on my wsm

If it's a true clone of the thermoworks, then it would be using the same thermistor, so in theory, it should be fine. You can always test it with some boiling water and an ice bath to see if it reads as it should.

You didn't mention what BBQ you're attaching the HM to, but the PID defaults should be a good start, regardless.
