Never trust another man's grill

Visiting the in-laws who wanted me to cook two birds. Decided to try my new rotisserie on one (char-broil oil-less air fryer for the other). Brother in-law had a 22 at his mom’s that I could use. I only took one picture but it’s enough to give you an idea of the abuse this thing had gone through. Wet ash had buried the ignition pipe. Took awhile to get it in shape. Fortunately I didn’t need the grill grate or I would have been serving tetanus on the side. IMG_4411.jpeg

That is just schmutz and ash, I’ve seen worse! My sister in law didn’t let the kettle cool before she stored the chimney inside and the whole thermoplastic handle melted into an annoying glob thankfully, she had not cleaned it out much better than what you had to deal with so, the glob was in a lovely layer of greasy ash! Picked it up and into the trash that went followed by a good cleaning of the thing! I gave her one helluva time about it!

All I can think about is the short amount of time required to clean out a Kettle bowl the day after rather than what you dealt with. Folks are probably fortunate that you're the one who cooked with it.
