thoughts on this lid? Should I be worried about the lip of the front and back?

Id be more worried about the chip on the top right on the front. Those edges just look like gunk build up to me.

Chances are it's fine. I'd want it for more than just the lid....

good spot ... anything I can do to "stop" that from getting worse?

You can touch it up, I believe some have said they have had good luck with the Testors brand model paint. I personally wouldn't drive that far for it with that chip in such a noticeable spot. Especially for all out as you seem to be going on it.

It’s a functional lid but I would grade it a “C”. That chip can be mitigated but not fixed. The chip is in a very visible spot.

Green lids seem to be the flavor of the month. I have seen a pile of them posted recently... 2 Genesis and 1 Jumbo Joe somehow found their way into my van. I dont know how that happens.

I did a big enlargement on that photo. Finding it difficult to tell if it's a chip or some grease drip. But I'd hate to drive 75 miles only to see a chip with rust coming down

If it was 7.5 miles I might have a look. But 75? Nah. Not bothering

I think it is rust because of the 'waterfall' of rust wash... grease doesn't leave that trail of white

and the guy let me know he cleaned it up before sending the pic. so I know he would have cleaned that had it been grease.

Those “waterfalls” can be the remains of the strafing of evil flying creatures, not always but, if it’s not a chip

I’m still not sure I’d spend the road time for it, like Larry, 7.5 maybe, 75, not so likely.
