My $62.61 OTG

Been watching Craigslist for "Weber" to see what comes & goes. There was a post for a Weber charcoal grill, used 3 times. Make offer.
It included a fairly dark photo, but I could tell it was a OTG and included a cover. I tossed out a $50 offer and picked it up the next day.
She uses a gas grill, but has a 4th of July party where a guy cooks ribs and will only do so over charcoal. She bought this grill just for that purpose.
Trust me, this first photo doesn't really show how grungy it was. Used 3 times, but probably for 3-4 hour cooks each time.

Now, for the clean up...
A paint stir stick to scrape the crap. And hey, the cleaning system is now free. :)

All back together after scrubbing the life out of the cleaning system.
I didn't care for the 'loose' feeling of the kettle on the legs, so I drilled/installed 3 screws through the cleaning ring tabs and into the legs.

Added a thermometer while I was at it. Ordered part #70180 from eReplacement parts
Thermometer $8.66 + shipping $3.95 = total $12.61 (plus 50 for the grill is my $62.61 investment)

No pics of it all together with the cover as it's dark out. But it pretty much looks brand new. For now.
I'm a happy camper with my better-than-new 2010 gold grill. Let the games begin!

Thanks fellas. I knew you'd understand & appreciate WAY more than wifey did. :D
When I picked it up, she said someone else offered her 5 bucks for it. I asked if I could negotiate my $50 offer? (as I handed her 50 bucks)

I'll give you $63.00 for it right now! ;)
That seriously made me L.O.L. For that price, am I expected to deliver also? :p

Congrats, and looks like you did a fantastic job on the cleanup. CL works for me as well. As for grills, so far a $50 22" OTG and a $150 26" OTG. Just wish I could find a heavy gauge offset in my price range and in good condition.

Chad Bman;
"Good on ya'"!!

I believe that the OTG is one of the finest grills out there regardless of price. You did GOOD!:D
