I picked up this 4# chuck roast yesterday, & smoked it for +7 hours today with cherry wood.

What’s the texture like; brisket? I bought a Chuck roast to grind for some burgers. Never thought of roasting/smoking one.

Yes it slices like brisket, I took it to +200 degrees then put it in a cooler for an hour. Some people smoke it longer & add it to a pan of broth & cover, this yields a texture similar to pulled pork, where you need to shread it. There not always very thick, but this one was at least 4" hard to pass up for $20!
