Made a new grill grate for WGA for $1.50

I found one of these toppers at a thrift store for $1.50 and decided to flatten it and cut it to fit my WGA. I am thinking it should work well from searing steaks to cooking veggies. I am considering cutting it 60/40 so it packs inside. I will decide after using it a few times. Any opinions?
