Happy Father's Day Everyone,

Finally finished the Gold B I picked up last year. Picture it with stainless grates and flavorizer bars. They will be here tomorrow. I had to paint the handle because it was so faded and discolored. I kinda like the contrast between the light colored knobs and handle versus the gray plastic pieces that go around the porcelain side shelves.

I saw Bruce's comment about prices on specialty grills like this one, so not quite sure where to price it? The Silver C I just sold went for $325.00 with no haggling and he drove four hours to get it.

On this one I was able to reuse some stuff such as the ignitor and catch tray usually those are toast.

Let me know what you think.

Bobby

Stunner! I wish I could have that one. I think they look more rugged and ready for work than other Webers of that time period.

Jon, you can have it, depends on how much you thinks it worth and you stopping by on your way to Indiana to get it!

Very nice. I had a similar, Gold C for 10 years before I gave it to the kids.

With that nice beefy frame, that should price higher than the Silver C. The only thing with that model is I just don't think they're very good looking compared to an earlier Genesis. Not sure why, maybe the proportions or lines or something doesn't look right to me. They were only made I think for 2 years, so maybe I'm not alone.

Looks like that box was blasted. Did you do it or pay for it? I'm thinking about trying to blast a box just for fun.

Ralph,

I paid to have it and the end caps sand blasted. I see where others grind them out, just looks like a lot of dirty work I am not interested in getting into. I paid $50.00 for it and the caps. The guy lives right around the corner and usually gets them back to me in a day or so. It may eat into my profits but I consider it well worth it and I always add that it was completely sand blasted in my listings. Yep, I agree this is a different look compared to other grills I have refurbed but it looks kind of industrial. Hope I find the buyer who feels the same way.

I was talking last via Face Book to the guy who bought your 5000, he seems pretty pleased.

Excellent restore! I'd love to have that and put in my living room.;)
Rich,

Yea its definitely different and kind of hard to find. If I didn't already have my Blue 2000 I would definitely keep it, but don't need two gassers on the deck, my wife already complains about the 2000 being under the covered part of the deck. It only rolls out to cook on.

Yeah, what does that mean?
It really looks great, you did a beautiful job.
Dave and Tim,

It just means I am out of grills for the time being. Not much around me lately that the owners don't want a fortune for them. I plan to do more when I find some reasonably priced ones.

Just pokin’ at you!
I hear you, there isn’t much of anything in the “secondary” market around here at ALL!
