Greetings from Cleveland!

Steve here, proud new owner of what I think is an S650 Summit. I found it at a hotel liquidation place and knew I had to have it. Probably paid too much but I don’t care - don’t intend to sell it and just want to grill on it!

Retired electrician/general contractor with experience repairing industrial machinery. Looking forward to cleaning it up and getting it going. It’s winter here in the rust belt so I have plenty of time to get everything right before high season.

Grill is fairly clean compared to other grills I’ve worked on and doesn’t appear to have any rust. It’s currently set up for NG which means I either need to convert it to propane (appears to be more complex than I originally thought) or start digging trenches for a new gas line.

Either way I’m happy to be here and look forward to seeing what you guys are doing.

Cheers!

Hi there Steve,
That’s one heck of a beast you have there.
I love just looking at it.

I’m not much on gassers knowledge wise.
There are guys here that are much more qualified than me when it comes to ordering parts and doing mods.
That said, as a retired contractor myself I don’t see any large challenges making that look 90% .

A nice soapy wash, some Scottsbrite blending, a possible re-pipe and that thing is golden.
Once again I’m no expert, it just looks like a simple yet satisfying project to me.
