GENESIS 5000 FULL RESTORATION - UPDATE

Hey Guys,

I recently finished a Genesis 5000 full restoration which took me 7 years to find (not many here in Australia).

I put a post on my thread for a hope of obtaining the elusive and ultra rare matching serving tray. I couldn't believe it when I received a message from an awesome grill buddy saying 'I think I have what your looking for'. Long story short it made it's way half way around the globe.

I have given it a freshen up and couldn't be happier. It absolutely finishes off the 5000 and am truly grateful!!

To give the final credit on that rare piece, @Bruce was the lucky person to originally find it. He knew it was something that I would like and gave it to me a couple years ago. I kept it in storage since then waiting for the right project.

When I saw Mark’s spectacular restoration half way around the world, I noticed it still needed that tray. When he sent out that inquiry hoping to find one, I knew the right project had arrived! You can clearly see this one was definitely it.

So, that tray has found a home from Bruce in Wisconsin, to Jon in Indiana, and finally to Mark all the way down under in Australia . I am sure Bruce is as happy as I am to see that special tray so beautifully restored and reunited with a matching 5000!

Honestly can't thank you guys again, definitely a piece that finishes the bbq off very nicely. Will be very appreciated for years to come thats for sure. The 5000 will be a great talking piece when it's on display

Yeah, I should have added it differently Jon and Bruce are "da Mans" Thanks to Bruce's keen eye for a deal I now have an excellent NG Weber Flame, and to Jon, for a very nice set of flavo bars for that Genesis Silver B I am fixing up for son in law's b/day

Thanks Steve, yeah a lot of debating and researching but I'm pretty happy with the overall finish.
