Fruited Pork Chops
2 TB. shortening
4 pork chops
4 slices of onion
2 TB. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
3 whole CLOVES
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup hot water
3/ cup whole pitted prunes
Heat shortening in a skillet over medium-high heat; brown chops quickly on both sides. Arrange onion slices on chops. Combine lemon juice and next 5 ingredients; pour over chops. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Add prunes; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until chops are tender.
