I picked up 2 twin packs of Boston Butts at the local store ($0.69 per #). Can I freeze them and if so, as is, in their vac-sealed package or should I take them out, wash 'em and then freeze them. How long will they keep?

I freeze them in their cryovac'd bags that they come in. No sense in opening it up and washing it before you freeze it.

Hopefully they dont have solution added. When I buy them at my grocery store instead of going to Sams or Costco, they always have solution added and are too hammy tasting.

Whew! Laziness occasionally pays off. I had the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago when I a bought a 2 pack of cryovac'd butts at Safeway for $0.88/lb. I just froze them as is because I didn't feel like going thru the hassle of opening, rinsing and repacking.
