Up to now and for the past fifteen years or so I've always used zip locks for curing my bacon. But I was always frustrated when some of the granular cure found itself inside of the zip lock "mechanism", it just wouldn't ziplock. Taa daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. In comes Sterilite containers. Always used for storage of my possessions, I visited Sterilite's FAQs and learned that their containers are food grade. YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!! The Sterilite 15QT container easily accomodates a 16# belly cut in half. What a godsend. It looks as if that container will accomodate 24# of belly. Let me know.
