My take?
It’s because people Do not speak with each other with any kind of understanding of grammar. People send shorthand texts, no longer do people actually carry on conversations. Face it, we are old codgers now, but, we know that.that and schools don’t teach basic linguistic practices! Too worried that someone might not get a “C” and drag the curve down.
But, then again, my parents were teachers!

It's partly because these spell checkers are coded to more "ghetto" type speak then actual English

About $6000 new for the model in question according to the manufacturer's website. It's certainly a pretty cooker!
