Flipped a Summit Silver B!

So --- this beast was posted up on CL for FREE 3 weeks ago --- it sat there for three days taunting me - there was only one pic and a statement that 'the last time I used it it didn't seem to get as hot'..... red flags.... I finally broke down and responded saying I'd like to look at it before I commit to taking it --- I know the parts for these can be pretty spendy.... It checked out and I went back with my trailer to grab it (it was only 6 mile round trip away!!!)

Got it home - it was AMAZINGLY clean for a free grill - MINIMAL cleaning needed to make it presentable! Fired up with out any trouble! The burners/flavor bars and grates were replaced within the last two years and it was cleaned well before being stored.

I REALLY wanted to add this beauty to the stable, but its just too big for me.... A thing of beauty tho. I put it up on CL for $280 looking for a quick payday right before the 4th -- I was thinking that was a 'fair' price considering the fire box was beginning to rust and one of the small caster wheels was locked up and I felt bad about it, so I gave a $20 discount for that.... Got a response within 4 hours! Dammit --- I priced it too low : ( thinking I should have started at $350-375 now, but oh well, it was easy $$$!!!!!

Pixs in no particular order....

I picked up a newer S470 and put $250 into it and flipped it for $875. It is possible to make a buck on them, but unless the cook box is solid, you could be selling a disaster to the buyer.

Yeah - I was surprised to see that the cook box wasn't cast..... this was the first Summit I've gotten my hands on. The box definitely had a bad case of rust starting, but is still solid enough for now.... Hence my decision to flip it --- it would have sat as a pretty deck ornament for me and slowly (?) rusted away on me.
Up here - its hard to get $200 for a 3 burner older genesis unless everything has been replaced and everything is perfect. And over priced grills just sit on CL for ever --- anything over ~$300 unless its a newer model just sits.
