Hello fellow bbq's. Im planning a mothers day picnic for the fam. I was wondering in peoples experiences if anyone can tell me If 1 chicken 3 racks of st Louis ribs and 2 about 6 lb butts would be enough for 13 adults and 2 young kids? Also gonna have beans, salad and prob mac and cheese. Maybe I should do 2 chickens? Thanks

Maybe add 2lbs to the butts (8lbs each) or add the 2nd chicken. Figure 12 hours for the butts, 6 hours for the ribs and 3 hours for chicken. I'm assuming you plan to smoke the mac & cheese? (that's required) figure 1-2 LBS for the noodles and 2 LBS of cheese, with at least 3 different cheeses

Hope you got more than one smoker ;)

Please don't figure 6 hours for the ribs unless you want to over cook them plan 4 to 5 hours for ribs and 10 to 12 for butts 2 to 3 for chicken

You have enough. I just made 7 sets of baby back ribs, potato salad & beans for 11 people and there was 1 set of ribs left over. Please show us the pics of the entire bash.

I just did two 4 lb boneless picnic roasts, 2 slabs of spares, and 1 beer can chicken for 9 adults and 5 kids under the age of 7. Ribs and chicken were wiped out but still had about 3-4lbs of pulled pork leftover. 4 of the adults were big guys who double dipped.

Id say def 3 slabs and 6lbs (total) of pork/2 chickens or 8lbs pork/1 chicken. Drop you butt totals regardless. You'll have pork coming out your ears with two 6 lb butts!

Thanks fellas. I think ill go with one 8 lb butt and 2 beer can chickens and 3 rib racks. Im ok with leftovers. I will be sure to get the pics up.
