Distance between the charcoal grate and the cooking grate in a 22" kettle

A belated thank you!

I am thinking of adding a third grate for charcoal 5" below the top grate of my WSM 22 for use with my new cajun bandit rotisserie. I saw a guy do it on youtube. It looks like it will cut down on the amount of charcoal used during rotisserie cooks and give better browning on the meat. I can either drill through the straps and the WSM for a bolt, or buy a new set of straps and have a local welder put shelf supports in the right place. I'm leaning towards option 2.
