Custom wood on Genesis 1000 project

Thought I’d put this here where someone might care 😊

Manzanita bush trunk from the side of the road. Can’t get much wood out of it so decided to do this with it.

I love it. Wood is just an amazing material. And if it something exotic the better. Plus I love the idea when people do something different to these grills.
 
Excellent. Never heard of that kind of wood/bush. But it extremely beautiful and interesting even before finishing it so nicely. What kind of top coat finish did you use?

It is a tung oil urithane mix, little shinier than I thought. Looks like Bacon
