Here's some ancient history. A recipe for corn casserole by Ray Lampe, aka "Dr. BBQ" that he posted on The BBQ Forum on April 15, 2002.
Says the good doctor, "If it's for friends, I use butter and an extra egg." I'd say if it's for anyone, use butter and an extra egg!
5 eggs
2 cups milk
1.5 sticks margarine, melted
2 cups self-rising cornmeal
1 Tablespoon salt
3 cans creamed corn
Combine ingredients. Pour into a greased pan. Bake in a preheated 375*F oven for about 80 minutes.
Ray doesn't specify type of pan. I assume he means a 9"x13" baking dish as is typical of most corn casserole recipes.
