No, not a chili cookoff, a CHILLY cookoff!
Our little Canadian team headed from Canada to Concord, Mass. for the 10th annual NEBS Snowshoe Grilling Challenge on Saturday. New England sure does love it's BBQ. Barely a few degrees above freezing and 18 teams came out to grill fish steaks, chicken wings, pork chops, and lamb strictly for fun and free beer (the event was hosted by the Concord Brewery).
As all three of us plus equipment had to fit in a vehicle comfortably for 8 1/2 hours, The only grills I packed were the top and bottom of my two bullets, making sort of 'mini-kettles'. In the end they worked out just fine, as we collected a first place trophy for chicken wings and finished 4th overall.
I'll tell you, the WSM is the best money I've ever spent. If a canucklehead like me can go from disaster to competitive cooking in a year, imagine what it can do for you!
