butt and ribs, timing?

Tomorrow I'm having a bunch of people over for a friends Birthday. I'm going to be throwing my butt on late tonight so that it gets done early afternoon tomorrow. I was thinking about throwing the ribs starting 3 hours before the pork was done. Then finishing their last hour or two by themselves.

For the wood I'm going to be using pecan for the butt, but am unsure of what I want to use on the ribs? What do you think? Also since I'll have some overlap in time between the two I'll need to add some more wood while the pork finishes up/ribs just get started. In the past I've used fruit woods with maybe a chunk of hickory. Think pecan + some apple would be good?

Any other suggestions?
