Bruce!!!!

LOL: I saw that one already larry. It is interesting, but from a flip perspective, it is not something I want to tackle. It is only about 15-20 miles from me. I would only be interested if it got below $50

Looks familiar

I have to agree that it doesn't have any flip potential unless the price dropped a lot. That one is pretty nice, though. If I had room and could find one, for a "keeper grill" I would like the Platinum version that has the stainless in the center of the handle. I would be torn between the open cart and big wire condiment shelf or the Summit style closed cabinet (which has a wire rack bottom and so drains well and doesn't seem as afflicted with rust):

If I was going to be visiting, I’d say snag it for me! Happy to spiff 10%! Sadly, it’s not in the cards this season.

Just sent a note to a friend in Milwaukee, the transportation will be interesting but, maybe.
If this works out, I can save some of the parts from the previously “gifted” blue silver B and swap out my maroon genny for this one! Collecting seems to be a real weakness for me anymore!
If it works out, fine! The firebox on th silver B is pretty much toast, the kids like the gasser, this would fill my side burner itch, replace “Bluey Louie” and give better equipment all the way around!
Maybe...

That one looks pretty good. If i didn’t have a grill, $100 is worth it. But since you have a bunch, you can wait for your price.

I guess I wouldn't mind grabbing something like that, however, I am afraid I would find something needs replacing that I dont have the spare parts for. I know if I grab a regular Silver B or a Genesis 1000, I don't care about possible problems, because I know I have replacement parts for virtually every part down to the nuts and bolts on hand. If I could get it for $50, I might be interested.

Bruce,
The Platinum uses every internal part of the 1000-5000 series including cook box, grates, as well as burner tubes so if you have them for a 1000 you will be good to go.
The Burner Assemble is used on the Summits as well and there are still some replacement parts still available for that.

Weber got smart on these Platinum series as the cook box frame rail that rusts out on most older Weber's is not welded in but bolted in-it is a simple replacement. It is Weber part # 97231.

Can you tell I want you to make the purchase? ;)

These hardly ever show up where I live. How does the frame height compare to the later closed cabinet Silver/Gold/Platinum models?

Jeff, it is more about the side tables and other unique items that would be an issue for me. Also, the price is just too high for a rehab/flip for me. While they might be cool and unique looking, they won't likely fetch all that much higher price than a Silver C. If I could get it for $50 or Less, then yah, maybe. But I really have to quit picking up grills and get some sold.

Yup, I agree that that style of grills are keepers unless you can get it for a really good price (free to no more than $50). The avg. person looking at it will not know the rarity of that grill and will just look at how much it costs.
