Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration

I added on my Smokai smoke generator mounted to the rotisserie bracket but I'm thinking I need to properly mount it to the right side of the right cook box inserted below the lowest of the three racks. If I'm going to do it properly.

I think that would be ideal Josh. Is there a current hole already in the lower part of the cook box or would it entail creating that hole?

I think you're right Bruce. It wouldn't mean creating a hole which I am prepared to do if I decide to. I have an aluminum teardrop vent flange to cover the hole when the Smokai is removed. The hole would need to be 3/4 in.20260108_090219.jpg

If I do hook it up properly to the right side of the right cook box below the third grate I may also put a large vent in between the two cook boxes that I can open and close to make the entire grill a smoker.

Well I was doing a burn in on this Broilmaster my impatience got the best of me. The orifices I ordered for this we're not made for it and had very tiny holes in comparison to the massive ones on my original NG. So I ran it for quite a while and got it up to just over 500°. I took the orifices out and drilled them a tiny bit bigger with a 1/16"drill bit. Should have stopped there LOL but decided while they were out to go a tiny bit bigger with 5/64". The temps went up quite quickly to bury the needle past 700°. And as you can imagine this will make it very hard to regulate low temperature. I'll need to order some new orifices and drill them at 1/16".20260108_122441~3.jpg

Tame that blow torch down. BM's are already known to produce high heat in their stock configuration. Keep us posted on how the new orifices do.

Actually Josh it won't affect low side as much (if at all) as once you start turning the dial down the main jet really doesn't have as much influence. Then the valve takes over

I'm not an expert on smoking but I think for some stuff you want to maintain a low temperature of 160 ish and this Grill is not going to do that very well.
