After not having our annual beercation (family reunion) last year, we’re making up for list time this year! And, as I’ll be 60 in September, we’re hosting here in Charlotte! 😄

Sunday was my great niece’ 19th birthday, and instead of going to a fancy restaurant, we made her favorite meat, linguine Alfredo with grilled chicken and bruschetta. 7613FD8C-4E31-4289-8A98-BF83FD47020E.jpeg811A4683-2452-4424-A694-B67BE7BFA0EE.jpegDFFB5930-26CD-4F94-81EA-77F47E7096B8.jpeg
And Pammi with the birthday girl!0C3F7307-BDD3-4DDC-A61C-5EFD9E11519B.jpeg
Monday we had part one of our annual tattoo day. We had so many people wanting tattoos, the artist scheduled a second day! This is mine. Appropriately right by my Grill Sergeant tattoo!! 1D1ABD0C-A528-483A-8925-F9CAE0E938FB.jpeg

Tuesday was pizza night. My pizza oven will crank out a pizza in about 90 seconds, so we had a production line going. Niece a d nephew stretching the dough, Pammi putting toppings on, my sister holding the next pie between the kitchen and back door and me cooking them! Toppings included pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, pesto and fresh tomatoes. We rolled out craft paper and HD tin foil on our outside table and just put them out for people to get a slice or three(four)!25E9D2CC-313E-4D5D-9D10-6BAF9A78F47D.jpeg62594761-CFE1-461A-95B8-5816342A3886.jpeg7C29B763-8D0E-454D-9916-AC9EE42406FF.jpeg7C29B763-8D0E-454D-9916-AC9EE42406FF.jpegE8FD1A02-DC53-4D47-8A7D-D84AFFD47EBD.jpeg

We went to a concert last night that got rained out! ☹️ I made fresh ground burgers, but failed to get any pictures!! Here is a pic of our view of the stage though. The first band was delayed by an hour due to lightning strikes nearby, and they were getting ready to have the second one start when they announced more lightning was in the area and that they were going to wait 20 minutes or so to get them going.
That’s when the torrential rains started! After about an hour, we decided to go and get our chairs and head home. I read on Facebook this morning that they called the last 2 bands off about 30 minutes later. 26D7D227-528A-45D7-8B38-4EEB82BDE1CD.jpeg
As we were going to be out late last night, I deboned a pork butt last night and made a run up this morning. It’s holding steady at 225* right now and we’ll eat it tonight! More pics later. F514560A-93B5-4496-A8A5-629ACB71F049.jpeg

This is a killer thread keep those pics and info coming. I hope to become a pizza magician like you one day. What pizza oven are you using? I keep looking at the Ooni's put I told myself, I have to get better at making them before I get a dedicated cooker.

You definitely made up for missing out last year. That takes a ton of prep and coordination. Great job!

It’s a Bertello, available on Amazon using the link on this fine forum!
It was first pitched on Shark Tank

The "Liver is Evil" T shirt is classic. This reminds me of get togethers with my brother. "Take that liver!" is often said when polishing off a cold one. We also tend to practice "Herd Theory" where drinking beers kills off only the weak brain cells so the rest of the brain can think faster....

This is an awesome family vacation! Your family always
Seems to have such a good time together - all generations - and you and Pammi certainly bring the eats!
Everything looks wonderful, I especially love the pizza assembly line. I hope the rest of your time together goes as planned and no more concert disappointments.

So I put the deboned butt on about 8:30 yesterday morning, using KBB and the Minion method and some apple chunks. I made a simple rub up with SPOG, brown sugar, paprika, cayenne, chili and mustard powder. Here it is on the WSM. EC61D506-DF97-47B2-B714-3B8482B00383.jpeg
And after about 5 hours. 9CD486B9-145E-4012-B87D-55F6EBCBA2CB.jpeg
I pulled it about 3:30, but it could’ve gone a little longer. I put a CI skillet of baked beans on after that. A5594EBD-6FCA-46AB-A169-3D4D1381CB24.jpeg

Last night of beercation, and we decided on surf n turf! My mom hasn’t had any lobster in about 3 years, as we usually only eat it up in Maine. The local grocery store carries live lobster, so we had them hold 10 of them.
I also picked up some of their extra yummy dry aged steaks!3565EB08-6B07-4A93-BD93-5997CE79C831.jpeg7A487294-DC1E-4043-996C-DDA410A8BFC0.jpeg
My nephew cooked the lobsters to perfection and Pammi made taters and corn.
My job was the steaks. Cooked 4 minutes per side over a combination of KBB and lump. Indirect for about 6 and off to rest.
Sliced thin and served alongside the lobstah and sides. 26653E50-D4D4-4414-ADC2-41D2C48A4EF1.jpeg

All good things much come to an end. ☹️
Everyone is heading home tomorrow I’ll miss them, but it’ll be nice to have our house back!!785BA27F-F823-4B7A-B31E-FE2A1465D92D.jpeg
