Ash catcher from a Premium 22 on an 18

Like the title says, is it possible to put the enclosed ash catcher from a Premium 22 onto an 18? I was just looking over some assembly docs and I'm thinking it should work, but before I order the ash catcher I would like to know if anyone here has done it before.
