Before going with Aimtofind.com to purchase the current object of my affections - a 26.75 OTG - I checked on the price through Amazon, in case the price was close enough that I could help out the TVWBB, and found a new one for $229.00! Come to find out, though, it's sold through an outfit called Name Brand Liquidations - seems like a great price, but I'm also a strong advocate for the old Caveat Emptor.

Has anyone had any dealings with this company? Decent ratings, but I'm not a true believer of all those feedback surveys either....

Move along folks....nothing left to see....since they only had one left (is THAT a clever marketing ploy, or what?), I rolled the dice and ordered it - and the premium cover. While I had to pay shipping - $41.00 - I still managed to save about eleven bucks over and above the Aimtofind site, plus credit went to the TVWBB.

They DID give me a rather large window for an estimated delivery date, though - January 12 - 28....

R.L. Since you asked and before I move along. I trust Amazon and the 3rd party vendors on their site. I believe that they will stand behind any purchase that they advertise.

Mark, sorry had to comment

any 3rd party vendor sale that is fulfilled by amazon should be subject to the policies of amazon. however, if it is not fulfilled by amazon, you will have to go through that 3rd party separately. So it is always a good idea to check the reviews (make sure they have good ratings and a good amount of reviews) and the policies of the company as virtually anybody can sell through amazon. not all of them are legit just because they are on amazon.

btw - congrats on the purchase!

Thanks for the replies - guess I'll find out in a couple weeks how good these folks are - sure hope that dome isn't delivered flattened out like a trash can lid

In my experience with the 3rd party vendors, I have had a few issues. However, if you go through Amazon to resolve these issues, you get a much faster response than calling or emailing them directly. Amazon's customer service has always been extremely helpful, even when not sold directly by Amazon.

Although, if it's sold by Amazon, the service is above anyone else. They refunded 2 of my gift wraps fees because they were torn.

I'm happy to report that my "husky" OTG was delivered to my doorstep Monday - MUCH sooner than I had anticipated - with all the components intact and in brand-spanking new condition. It's now a valued member of my little family of grills. Hats off to Brand Name Liquidations!

However, if I may, I have a rather (insignificant to some, perhaps) negative comment regarding Weber instruction manuals - they are not alone in this regard, mind you, I note a growing trend among many manufacturers - and their increasing reliance solely upon drawings of parts and those confounded little arrows that denote how said parts are put together, rather than also providing an actual narrative to assist with, and explain, the assembly process.

I find that sometimes it is difficult, if not impossible, to discern from an illustration what the final product in any particular enumerated step should look like, once said step is completed, or, what constitutes the proper orientation of a particular part in order to successfully assemble the part(s); consequently I have, on occasion, found it necessary to disassemble the product of a completed step and re-assemble in order to achieve a successful end result.

I just feel it would be helpful to include some written instruction to support the illustrations; it can't be that hard - or expensive - can it?

Egyptian hieroglyphs were a basic mystery until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone; sometimes, I find certain assembly diagrams to be strikingly similar.....

Rooster,

Couldn't agree more regarding manuals nowadays. I think it is so that don't have to print them in different languages.

I just had several repair parts come in from weber and each of them had the same picture based instructions. Fortunately I didn't really need them so it did not hinder me.

However, a friend gave my wife and I portable digital wireless photo printer for Christmas. The instruction are in pictures and I have no idea how to hookup my phone to it. The pictures tell me what to do, but it doesn't work!

Speaking of multi-language manuals, why, oh why can they NOT print separate manuals, OR, construct the manual in some sort of perforated fashion, permitting the individual to either discard, or tear-off the pertinent portion of, the manuals he or she cannot understand?

I have a number of manuals - camera manuals are notorious for this - that consist of French, Spanish, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Farsi, English, Portuguese - you get the idea - sections, and wouldn't you know it, the ENGLISH section is smack dab in the middle....Thank goodness for PDF manual versions provided on the manufacturer's websites!
