Annoying problem with propane tanks that I get from the Propane Exchanges here

Wow...$65 for all those?? I'm going to have to see if there's a Tractor Supply near me. There's got to be one out here somewhere around the cornfields. LOL

I was surprised as well. I just did the math since I didn't know how empty the 5 lb, one of the 20s, and the 30lb were.

All 5 tanks have a total capacity of 22.2 gallons.

Propane was $3 a gallon. Paid $65 with tax so it appears they were all just about dry. Lol

I'm gonna go fill up another so that I will be at 4 near full tanks....
Just have to hope that I don't get stuck behind some dbag filling six tanks....
Propane is a hellava lot cheaper than charcoal at that price..... I can make up the smoke flavor with a smoke tube and pellets.

Good story Jim, and I hope you're doing well health wise. I'm looking forward to the day I can move away from Chicago to someplace like Waterloo to get away from the crazy taxes that we endure in this part of the state.
Thanks...yes, I'm doing very well heath-wize.

Again, I've only been down here for a few years. But the general consensus here is that your area of the State is not a good one. I see tons of signs on people's lawns saying "Pritzker sucks the life out of southern Illinios". Suffice it to say, Pritzker doesn't have a lot of fans down here. If it weren't for Chicago, I think Illinois would be a fairly conservative State. Same thing with NY where I lived. Erie County (the county that includes Buffalo) is very liberal, as is NYC. Those 2 counties essentially control the State. The next county adjacent to Erie is Niagara County. Want a gun permit? Niagara County no problem. Erie County? Not going to happen. I applied for one when I was living there and they told me flat out "We don't issue permits to carry, period"...this despite the fact that the State does. What they did was give me a permit to carry, but down at the bottom of the perimit they typed in "For hunting and target shooting only". So essentially I could carry in the rest of the State, and if stopped, they would see I had a valid permit to carry and there would be no problem (because they don't recognize the restriction that's typed in down below). In Erie County, they would see the "Hunting and Target" thing typed in and I'd be in trouble.

I can remember when my father and I would go out for pheasants near Odell; I lived in Joliet at the time. He had bought me a Montgomery Ward 12gauge pump shotgun. I was really annoyed that the magazine only would hold two shells instead of four as designed. I guess the local government wanted to give the birds a break…..
