40lb tank

I want to use a 40lb tank with my E330 propane grill instead of the normal 20lb tank. Has anyone done this before and how did you do it??

Not an issue. Before I had NG installed at the house, I used twin 100lb tanks. When one tank would empty I would see a "flag", then call the LP delivery guys, they would swap it and bill me. LP is LP. As long as you use the correct regulator

If I were switching to a 40 lb tank I'd ask the wife to exchange it

I am curious why? I assume you already have the tank. Will you have the gas company come and fill it up or will you muscle it like a welding tank to a propane place for fill ups? The 20lb. tank works pretty well for most people because it lasts a while, fits in a car, can be carried, has a standard price per fill, etc.

An extension hose seems an easy way that doesn't modify the original setup.

If you outboard the tank like I did with my E330 it would make it easy to connect to the hose or use the regular size tank.

My E330 was converted from NG to LP. I've been putting off cutting a hole in the floor so the propane tank would mount properly on the tank hanger / scale. When I saw @JohnS FL restore his 2009 E310 and relocate the tank outboard on the RH side, I decided to move the tank outside on my E330...
