2026 Winter Olympics

I am far less interested since the previous opening ceremony shenanigans.
But..........I did look at the Men's hockey roster for team Canada and it's looking pretty darn exciting.
Being held over seas catching what you want may prove to be difficult......especially if you have to go to work.
I will watch some hockey I am sure.

Not to shill for Peacock, the streaming TV app, but they have a great platform and section setup just for the winter games. You can watch whatever sport interests you on your time and go as deep as you wish. The app was a game changer for us in watching sports.

Wife and I both love winter sports so we're looking forward to taking in a lot of it. Skiing, curling, hockey, shredding, sledding, and more. Nothing beats speed on near frictionless bases. The outcomes can be wild.

Jamaican bobsled team for the win!

Kidding aside, I need to see some snowboarding, ski slalom, and ski long jump. Bob sledding is fund to watch...

I also enjoy the involuntary luge...

Of course, gonna watch the god on skis Odermatt. I am kind of rooting against him. Loiic Meillard is such an incredible talent. He just gets overshadowed by the talent of the century.

and odermatt did not win, but a very good showing of the swiss team. And of course, love that the old-timer Dominic Paris did so well. I was surprised he was still skiing.

I caved and got a Peacock subscription. The regular coverage is hard to watch. I'll binge watch a few other things and cancel at the end of the month.
I found out from my wife that we do have a Peacock subscription (she somehow gets these 'free').

A LOT more choices than what is in my standard Wrecktum channel line up.

Watching Men's freestyle skiing now.

No real interest for me. I'm just sitting here waiting for "Pitchers and Catchers Report!"
OTOH I am contemplating a new TV. Not sure if OLED or not. But, that seems to be the only thing that gets close to my older plasma sets. I can have the same programming on my Samsung 55" UHD set in family room like say an Olympic scene, and wife might be looking at same in living room on the Samsung 50" Plasma (which BTW is only a 720P set) and the living room blows it away. Even though that set is nearly 20 years old!
IDK there are so many technologies for TV out there IDK what is the best thing to buy so the confusion just simply stops me from getting anything
