Hi all,
Bought my first pork butt. Boston butt from wholesale club. Didn’t realize it has a bone. Do I need to remove before smoking for pulled pork or leave it in? Thank you!

Welcome to TVWBB. Leave the bone in. When it is done and rested, the bone slides right out. Good luck with your cook and post some pictures!

Nope. If you are using a temperature probe, do not let it touch the bone. Once smoked, the bone should put out clean and easy.

A lot of folks say the bone adds flavor. I leave mine in but the meat well away from the bone still tastes great. Have fun. :wsm:

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Nice day outside. Pulled pork and St Louis ribs

Keep the bone in....that bone is your natural temperature/doneness probe. When it comes out clean you good.
