It's too cold here to bring the power washer out so I went to a self-serve car wash and using the rinse setting I was able to get most of the dust and gunk off of the WSM before I start working on really cleaning it up. The charcoal grate looks rusty and I'll go over it with a wire brush to knock the bigger pieces off but should be fine. The cooking grates on the other hand are going to need a good scrubbing. I don't think they are by any means gone but will take some work to clean up. I was thinking about spraying them with Dawn PowerWash and rinsing and repeat. What are some of the favorite methods here for scrubbing a cooking grate? Something about trying to cook on another guys meat drippings just doesn't sit well with me.
