New-to-me 2005 Genesis Silver A

what are you using to "degrease" it?

I started with a bottle of Zep All-Around Oxy Cleaner but I got impatient and some nooks were just caked on with crap that i needed to dig out with a flathead screwdriver (only to the bottom of the crap and not bare metal).

Then I broke out the SOS pads and some elbow grease.

I'm going to try the pressure washer again in the morning.

So far so good:

That's interesting, I always through that condiment rack meant it was a Spirit as i've seen so many of them with Spirit written on them. Now i know, older Genesis Grill(2005 only?) can have them also.

Yeah, they carried it over to the Spirit when they reintroduced it.

I guess nothing really beats a wire cup brush... I am happy with the outcome

DaveW, would you have any idea what the serial number should start with if it was a 6711001 versus 6711411?

I did finally find the sticker with the serial number but it's not quite legible.

I think the model number says 67110xx

SN for a 2005 should start with DO.

I finished putting it together today, grilled some veggies on it to break it in.

I have some "during" pics:

Nothing like taking a razor blade to get 12 years of carbon deposits off:

I also painted the lid end caps and lubed the burner valves today (I would highly recommend this, it makes a difference).

Yep, I gotta do my burner valves. My grill is 24 years old and definitely could use some love in the valves.
