Made back ribs for Xmas dinner and created this sauce. It turned out really well and went awesome with pork. I don't see why one couldn't use just about any fruit or veggie in the place of cranberries to the same proportions.

1C fresh cranberry sauce*
*follow instructions on back of OceanSpray bag of fresh cranberries, I used 3/4C of sugar instead of 1C*
1C Heinz Ketchup
1/4C apple juice
2-3 T honey (to taste)
1 T white vinegar
1/4 - 1/2C Demerra Sugar (to taste)
2 T dehyd minced onion
1/2 tsp crushed chiles
1/8 tsp chiptole powder
1 tsp whole corriander toasted & crushed
generous grind of black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp rub used on meat (I used Competition rib rub in the sauce and on the ribs).

Prepare cranberry sauce. Place cranberry sauce, ketchup in blender and liquify. Put mixture in sauce pan, rinse out blender with apple juice and add to pan.

Gently simmer to desired thickness, about 15 minutes. It thickens somewhat as it cools.
