One of my favorite Jamie Purviance recipes is his Smokey Braised Beef Chili from Smoke. A Sunday brunch dog play day seemed like a good reason to make it.

Mise en place. Everything ready to go!

Braising over, the chuck has been shredded and it's time to eat!

I can't wait to have left overs tonight!

That is one good looking cook, nice work.
Love the pups, but you can tell that by my signature line.

Looks great, JG! I'll be making my annual Halloween chili on Monday.....can't wait. I love chili!

Thanks everyone! It hasn't exactly been chili weather around here; it's been in the 90's for a few days now. Silver lining: energetic, Peter Pan-like dogs with black coats tire quickly in the hot sun!
