Was wondering why when cooking recipes such as "best ribs in universe" or "spiral ham" one would want to start out with 2 starters of*totally hot coals then wait for cooker to cool down from 375 degrees to 225 when you could* use the minion method and start out with 225 degrees. I followed the rib recipe exactly and by the time the cooker cooled down(40 min) the Wood had all burned out.

BRITU was an award winning recipe used to win a competition hence the notoriety. It's a technique and a different technique has won the title since then. It's just one of dozens of ways to cook ribs. The Minion method works just fine for the majority of folks on this forum. Here's a way to do Baby Backs in a hurry using charcoal. https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/pork-ribs-recipes/rendezvous-ribs-recipe-ribs-hurry Find what works for you and run with it. Have fun with it. :wsm:
