I really don't know what else you can check. Here's what my log looks like on my 4.2 HeaterMeter with an original Pi B with an Edimax adapter that runs 24/7 on the other side of the house from my wifi router. Sept 8th I rebooted it when I moved it from use outside.
    Code:

I don't have a mesh network or anything fancy, just a router running 40MHz channel width on 2.4GHz.
I'm that HeaterMeter guy what ruins everybody's free time.

I am unclear why it "Goes to sleep' is what it seems to do. Really strange. I updated the logging value in the network config and I don't get that DHCP errors anymore.

So I will watch the logs but I don't expect to find anything specific.

so i relented and ordered a raspberry pi zero w. I will see how that behaves.

What has to be altered? I have to cut down some pins on the header?

    Thanks!

You need the pins in green. The pins in red will probably interfere and can be safely clipped if need be.

I have a unrelated question that I hope someone can answer but since I started from scratch I can't remember. I thought I removed the whole fan output stuff from the web interface somehow. Is that possible and if so, how?

    Thanks!

I am having a hard time understanding your question here....
I created the Roto Damper, RD3, HMv4.2 sliding back case, "air-burner" and the "ping-pong" valve in my quest for delicious "set and forget" BBQ.

There are two sections on the main webpage for the fan speed and something else fan related (mine is off now). I thought I had removed them from displaying?

OK, I think you are referring to the fan output bar, which can be split to indicate the fan speed and servo position?
That is controlled by code in the "user CSS" section of the HM config... on the main config page at the top click the "user CSS" link, on the page that loads you can add code to customize the user interface.
