Verde and street corn

It's not been easy to grow any crops in this part of the world this year, but finally have enough stuff ready that a large portion of meals can be done right off the garden. Can't think of a better way to capitalize than this. Have tomatillos like crazy, going to plant more next time and make a whole bunch of salsa too I think.

Fire roasted veggies on the 22.

Put a quick sear on some pork shoulder slabs, before we sliced it down to smaller bits.

Still had enough hot coals for an appetizer. Caprese bruschetta bites with tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella, evoo, and balsamic vinegar.

In the pot, with homemade stock from the last chicken we spun on the rotisserie.

Fired up the Genesis to put a fast char on the sweet corn.

Plated.

Going to add just a handful of photos for the great photographers on here who enjoy some other subjects, since I haven't posted enough lately. On the way to Oshkosh, we managed to catch the newly restored Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 locomotive.

And then got to see the just-restored only existing North American XP-82 Twin Mustang.

More Airventure photos available, if requested- but I've reached the limit for this post!

Great meal !

That P-51 is crazy. Not sure those ever saw combat in the ETO, however. Makes me wonder what the intent of that build was about, was it speed or to make a bomber of the plane ?

The Twin Mustang concept actually started as a way to develop a very long-range fighter that could escort the B-29s at great distances over water in the Pacific. As the war progressed, capture of islands like Iwo Jima closer to Japan meant that more conventional aircraft could do the mission. They eventually did see a lot of service during the Korean war in the night/all weather role that early jets weren't very well suited for.

Outstanding work with your grills and your camera, Clay!

Mind if I share your Mustang pic to friends over on the Pentax Forum?
Some are really into vintage planes, and I'm sure they'll also appreciate your photography skills.

Great cook and photos used to see the 4014 at the Pomona fair grounds in California before the moved it for the restoration. Great to see it back in action again.

Fantastic Photography Clay! AMAZING!
And your grilling is topnotch as well... nothing can beat fresh corn and tacos!

Great Post!
