Anyone besides me grill lettuce?

I ordered Caesar salad in a restaurant and received a grilled romaine heart with Caesar dressing and croutons. I was skeptical to say the least. Delicious!
The whole Family likes it.

Yup. We do here on a fairly regular basis. I like it with just a drizzle of smoked balsamic vinegar.

Yes, for a few years now.
Usually with only olive oil and sea salt, topped with grated cheese.

Sometimes I get a little crazy.

I gave it a try a couple of years ago on a brisket cook, on Smoke Day no less. My wife made a blue cheese bacon vinaigrette to go with it. Delicious.

My late mom made great wilted lettuce, using hot bacon grease.
Oiled, then grilled, lettuce is similar, and a nostalgia trip for me every time I make it.

Do you think this only works with certain lettuces like Romaine and cabbages?

We roast kale all the time.

We've made it a couple of times and really liked it. Last time was olive oil and a Italian dressing, really good.

I like Romaine lettuce the best. Its always a nice change from just a regular salad.

sure, sometimes everything gets thrown on the grill. It really changes the flavor and texture in a good way.

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies. Glad to see others are into grilled veggies too. A lot of my friends think you just grill meat so I tell them they don’t know what they are missing. 😋
