Removing old connector from the tube

I would like to replace some of the old rusted connectors inside my tubes. What is the process for removing them? Attach a bolt to it and then yank it out? Drill it out? Leave it in the tube but push it further in?

TUBE???? Is my Alzheimers kicking in, I can't think of what you are referring to. Maybe frame tubes?

I get you, I simply broke mine with a screwdriver and pulled them out.

Bill, I just put a flat blade screwdriver on one side and hit it with a hammer. It flipped 90 degrees and I pulled it out with needle nosed visegrips.
Bruce, he is referring to the threaded inserts in the square tubing of the frame I think. Hope this helps.

Richard, that makes sense then. Yah, I would try to get them out one way or the other. If nothing else, using a rod to punch them out from the other end should do the trick.

Yup, that’s what I meant. Thanks for the good advice. I especially like the long rod idea. Didn’t think of that one.
