Chuck eyes with the Vortex using RO from WM's sale

Just a couple of pics,
Blue smoke rising at start up from Royal Oak briqs purchased at WalMart during the Memorial Day sales. The smell is pleasant enough, if not too close. Sparks like the dickens if you move the coals when lit, otherwise I've been happy and would buy it again.

I used my small size Vortex, big end up, and filled it about half way. It was still almost too hot unless you kept moving and flipping the steaks, which is how I normally cook chuck eyes anyhow. Reversed seared.

Bakers and garlic bread only for sides, no rabbit food.
One more pic, our Missouri state bird gave me a photo-op the day before the St Louis Blues parade and rally Saturday, seemed fitting.

Love chuck eyes, but those and beef ribs are the unicorns of beef around here, very seldom available. I got the same impression with RO, I really do like it and you can't beat the price. I wish I had a little more storage, I would certainly get some more of it.
Beautiful shot of a beautiful bird.
